The "Sweetheart Dance" is an annual Valentine event offered to nursing home and assisted living residents in the community since 1996. Some of the highlights of the dance are:

1. A live Band: The band performs music of the generation attending the dance.

2. The crowning of a king and queen of the Sweetheart Dance. A full court is also recognized with the presentation of a long stem flower or boutonniere. The court represents every facility in attendance.

3. Door Prizes

During the dance residents enjoy the music, rekindle memories, have refreshments, and opportunities to visit with old friends. The dance is always well attended with an average of 300.

The event is held at the Center Stage banquet facility. Local businessman Edward Becker provides use of the facility at no charge.
